White Mountaineering Spring/Summer '26
Last week, White Mountaineering showcased one of its most eccentric collections for Spring/Summer ‘26, dealing a healthy concoction of exuberance and subtle tonality through outdoor-inspired clothing.
Deviating from the design language that has dominated past output, the Japanese label went above and beyond as far as colour, patterns, and fabrics, harking back to a time when outdoor clothing didn’t adhere to minimalist conventions. A combination of striking volt colours was matched with loud plaid prints, but equally conflicted by tonal, earthy browns, grey, and beige tones. Zip-up jackets, striped collarless shirts with field pockets, floral shirts, flight jackets, denim shorts, and more look like something out of a 70s outdoor catalogue, with modern enhancements courtesy of the Japanese label. Aside from its mainline offering, White Mountaineering appears to be drafting in new collaborators like ECCO alongside mainstays, like Merrell and Danner, but we will have to wait until we see a full preview.
Showcased in the courtyard of the Irish Cultural Centre, models were dispatched through the space laden with encumbered rucksacks, duffels, and rucksacks, resembling a backpacker navigating a city to find their mountainous destination. The surroundings provided a unique balance of light and dark, with the courtyard's centre illuminated by daylight and the sides sheltered by large trees, offering shade.
