In pursuit of creating simple and neutral yet functional wares, nanamica continues to further refine existing silhouettes in their forthcoming Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection.

For Autumn/Winter ‘21, nanamica have designed the collection around four themes that, in 2021, individuals face in their everyday lives: any time works, heading to the office, home-office wear and, finally, the wind, the sun and the sea. With each of these scenes in mind, the apparel has to coexist seamlessly with these environments and function in unison with them, which sees nanamica continue their development of ‘Heart-wearming Life-Tech wear’.

For ‘Any time works’, the idea is to craft seasonless, genderless and ageless garments that individuals can use as the basis for their wardrobe. Over time, they will continue to be developed and improved much like a piece of software. Two styles that form part of this theme are a coverall and pants made using a moleskin fabric which over time will continue to soften and mould to the wearer. The goal of the ‘Heading to the office’ field is to design apparel for creatives working in the city that they can just throw on casually but still serves a functional purpose. This led to the development of ‘Breath Tune’, a fabric blend of lightweight recycled polyester and ZQ merino wool that possesses technical features like water repellency, deodorising and thermal insulation. For ‘Home office wear’, the aim was to create multiple items using one material - Kodenshi fiber - that warms the body by reflecting back body heat; in turn, nanamica brings forth a cardigan and pants set up and turtleneck top, to name a few. Lastly is ‘The Wind, The Sun and The Sea’, a series of functional pieces designed for the aforementioned busy individuals who like to vacate to the sea for holidays. To keep the wearer warm in times of severe cold, some outerwear is clad using PrimaLoft black insulation.

Adhering to nanamica’s clear colour scheme, the collection is characterised by deep navy hues, earthy tones and monochromatic shades.
