MHL. Reinterprets Dr. Martens' Iconic 1461 Shoe

MHL. Reinterprets Dr. Martens' Iconic 1461 Shoe

MHL. by Margaret Howell and Dr Martens launch their debut collaboration, brought together by shared utilitarian values and a commitment to longevity through craftsmanship and style.

At the centre of their shared universe is Dr. Martens’ iconic 1461 derby, celebrating 65 years of workwear heritage and British counterculture. To mark the occasion, MHL. opts for chrome-free leather supplied by Leeds-based tannery C.F. Stead, arriving in deep brown and black, with a matte finish and a softened hand feel designed to develop a natural patina over time. Considered details finish each pair, including flat, unwaxed cotton laces, a double-stitched toe cap, padded heel collar, and a leather heel tab referencing workers’ shoes from Dr. Martens extensive archive. Rounding everything out, a smoked air-cushioned sole features tonal black Goodyear welt stitching.

Release Details:
When? The 16th of July.
Where? Via MHL. and Dr. Martens’ online stores.
