KAPTAIN SUNSHINE Digs Into Barbour's Archive for Latest Collaboration
Building on past discourse, KAPTAIN SUNSHINE and Barbour unite for Autumn/Winter ‘25, offering a range of clothing and accessories inspired by the British outfitter’s rich archive, with some modern alterations courtesy of the Japanese label.
For Autumn/Winter, the duo offer three pieces of apparel, two hats, and a bandana, injecting a militaristic influence while honouring the heritage of Barbour. To start, the Field Coat and Cruiser Hoodie are based on existing styles, but are updated with minor adjustments to the width and length, bringing them into a modern context. The detachable hood is made of a melton wool fabric and contrasts with the body fabric. Next for apparel is the Quilted Jacket, which can be worn on its own or inside the latter styles as a liner. Rounding off the capsule is an ear-flap hat, a bucket, and an honorary bandana. While subtle adjustments are made to the pieces, it reflects the pair’s desire to create durable and timeless products that are not dictated by trends.
