Birkenstock and Maharishi Marry Function and Design in the Mogami Terra Tech
United by a shared desire to communicate artistic interpretations of military-grade styling, Birkenstock and Maharishi.
At the heart of this partnership is the Mogami Terra Tech, a collaborative take on the Mogami, a component of Birkenstock’s Active Range, introduced in 2024. Now distilled through Maharishi’s distinctive lens, the Mogami Terra Tech is replete with adaptable features built for outdoor excursions, from the anatomical footbed to its double-strap construction for a secure fit. The latter comprises suede and nylon webbing, each with a quick-release buckle as a centre-piece. Underfoot, a polyurethane sole is moulded with grip and protection, converting the Bostonian label’s signature footbed into a waterproof iteration of itself designed for outdoor exploration.
Releasing alongside the sandal, the pair unveil a co-branded backpack informed by the M.A.L.I.C.E system, a succinct abbreviation of ‘Modified All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment’, first introduced by the U.S. Army in the 60s, now utilised by Maharishi in its mainline accessories. Arriving in signature black and olive colourways, mirroring the Mogami Terra Tech, the backpack adheres to an expandable design, featuring 3D external pouches, hidden side pockets, a quilted lining, a suspended laptop pocket, and quick-release buckles for comfort and convenience.
