Engineered Garments and Clarks Originals Look to the Desert Khan for Inspiration
By no means a stranger to a footwear collaboration, Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments namesake reunites with Clarks Originals for a second time, looking to the Desert Khan for inspiration.
This time, premium suedes, leathers, and tactile hair-on finishes breathe life into a Clarks Originals classic, while infusing Engineered Garments’ distinctive flair in every stitch. Three variations of the Desert Khan arrive in rich brown suede, smooth black leather and hair-on leopard print, complete with removable kilting for a militaristic touch, speaking to Suzuki’s affinity for uniforms and military aesthetics. Providing steady traction underfoot, a cleated, ultra-durable Vibram sole channels utilitarian sensibilities. Finishing touches come by the way of co-branded triangular logo fob ties and insoles.
The campaign artwork was orchestrated by graphic designer and longtime Engineered Garments collaborator, Gaku, who wanted to replicate the illustrations of vintage Clarks advertisements, capturing the heritage of the British label.
