BEAMS and MacMahon Knitting Mills Honour New York Street Style Using Knitwear

BEAMS and MacMahon Knitting Mills draw on the shared theme of ‘BORN’ and ‘NEW YORK’ in their forthcoming capsule.

Rather than relying on distressed finishes, the pieces interpret the texture of boro through hand-knit techniques. By preserving the knit’s natural irregularities and rawness, it achieves a vintage-like depth and the inherent warmth unique to handcrafted garments.

Within ‘BORN’, the BORN MA-1 takes centre stage, pushing the expression of damage to new heights. The BORN HAT complements the collection, formed using a moulded construction, and the BORN KEY CHAIN, featuring a bone motif that also functions as a zip pull. In contrast, ‘NEW YORK’ introduces specially designed pieces with unexpected twists, most notably the New York Stadium Jacket, which fuses classic stadium jacket construction with a Cowichan-style collar, and the newly developed New York Cap, reimagined in a pillbox silhouette.
