Cafe Mountain and norbit by Hiroshi Nozawa Serve up the ‘2-in-1’ Layered Down Jacket
Kicking off big jacket season, Cafe Mountain and norbit by Hiroshi Nozawa communicate their mutual love of outerwear with the ‘2-in-1’ Layered Down Jacket.
With a shared interest in pared back functionality and design that doesn’t lean on technical gimmicks, Cafe Mountain and norbit found an immediate kinship. The result is a doubling down on heritage outerwear, a vintage fishing jacket used as the basis for this 2-in-1 jacket, combining the cropped boxiness of the aforementioned with an insulated liner. Every element serves a purpose: ease of movement, protection from the elements, and a pocket layout that rewards curiosity. The result is a garment built to perform on an outdoor adventure just as naturally as it does on a stroll through the city.
The outer shell sets the foundation: a boxy, structured layer cut from durable Solotex fabric, built to hold its shape and withstand the unpredictabilities of the everyday. A clean collar, detachable hood and shaped chin guard keep things controlled when the wind turns, offering protection without unnecessary fuss. Inside, a lightweight, down-filled full-length liner locks in warmth without bulk, finished in subtle two-tone nylon and detailed with oversized pockets and a secure front flap closure. Designed to integrate seamlessly, it adds insulation when needed and stands alone when conditions soften.
