HAVEN Offers a Behind the Scenes Look at the Manufacturing of its Catalyst Boot
Continuing the evolution of its footwear programme through inline releases and collaborative efforts, HAVEN reissues its Catalyst Boot, drawing inspiration from the durable utility of the Canadian military combat boot.
Produced by master shoemakers in Onè di Fonte, Italy, an area long celebrated for its heritage of artisanal footwear, the Catalyst Boot combines traditional construction with modern materials to achieve a timeless, rugged aesthetic built for daily wear. Each pair begins with soft Desert Oasis suede from the renowned Charles F. Stead tannery in England, heralded for its dense nap, supple hand, and durability. The suede is hand-inspected, cut, and sewn by skilled artisans who shape the uppers, crimp the heel and toe, and add a nubuck collar, full nappa lining, and custom YKK Excella™ zipper. After precise preparation, the upper is paired with an Italian-made Zeppa NG5 midsole and Vibram® New Winkler outsole, delivering lightweight stability, traction, and comfort. Once assembled, the boots undergo a meticulous hot-press and cooling process to create a lasting bond before final inspection and finishing.
