SAGE NATION Fuses 80s Casuals with British Academia for Spring/Summer '24

A continuation of an ongoing study of its three core principles of Balance, Perspective and Purpose, SAGE NATION’s Spring/Summer ‘24 collection exists between two opposing landscapes: the 1980s casual subculture and the formality of British academia.

Seeking inspiration from sportswear classics and references to workwear uniforms that are synonymous with the casual subculture, as well as the somewhat structural silhouettes associated with British academia, Spring/Summer ‘24 acts as a running commentary for these two contrasting worlds. An oversized nylon anorak is effortlessly draped over a crisp white dress shirt and tie, while a co-ord inspired by a Japanese mechanics uniform is tailored and crafted in a navy check. Further contrast comes from technical Japanese nylon fabrics sitting alongside hardy denim, while lightweight cotton is used consistently. As we have seen from previous output, Sage continues to utilise the Japanese concept of ‘The Power of Five’ when it comes to determining its colour palette, incorporating organic shades of greens, oranges, browns, grey and navy into its garment design.
