This Thing Of Ours x norbit by Hiroshi Nozawa 'Insect Shield' Capsule
The UK-based retailer, This Thing Of Ours, has collaborated with norbit by Hiroshi Nozawa - a label that the store has been carrying for a number of years now - on their ‘Insect Shield’ Jacket and Bottoms.
Forged from their shared desire to bridge the gap between technical outdoors clothing and an urban influence, This Thing Of Ours has used norbit’s ‘Insect Shield’ Jacket and Bottoms for the basis of this collaboration. Whilst the overall functionality of the pieces has been maintained, the colourway has been modified in a more subdued way, taking on a Black/Grey camouflage appearance that reflects the intentions of both parties.
Each piece has been made using the same lightweight polyester mesh that creates a physical barrier against insects and other pests; this is further enforced by an odourless insect repellent that wards off unwanted attention. The ‘Insect Shield’ Pants, for example, are an ideal Spring/Summer pair of bottoms that come equipped with an integrated climbing-style belt, elasticated waist and cuffs, and side entry for access to garments underneath. Lastly, the Insect Shield Jacket dons the same bespoke Black/Grey camouflage print but takes on the form of a protective outerwear silhouette instead. Functional details come in the form of an elasticated hem and cuffs, full-face protection and two pockets on the front and one on the rear which the jacket itself can be packed into.
