DAIRIKU and BEAMS Release a Grunge-Inspired Capsule Collection

DAIRIKU and BEAMS Release a Grunge-Inspired Capsule Collection

Inspired by vintage and grunge styles, DAIRIKU and BEAMS channel design characteristics from those two into this capsule collection for AW ‘21.

The range consists of denim jeans, a flannel shirt and mohair cardigan, all of which are symbolic, in some way, to both BEAMS and DAIRIKU. The denim originally appeared in DAIRIKU’s AW’21 collection in a slimmer cut but to adhere to the overriding grunge aesthetic it has been altered to flare throughout the leg. Each pair features either embroidery or leather patch detailing. Another piece that we saw in DAIRIKU’s latest range is the mohair cardigan, but BEAMS has modified it to adopt a blue argyle pattern reminiscent of second-hand vintage clothing, brought up to a modern specification thanks to the blue colour scheme. Finally, the range is rounded off by a loose-fitting white/dark grey flannel top, the cornerstone item of any vintage store, with the addition of excessive distressing and two flap pockets on the chest. Each style possesses a vintage and worn-in look, achieved through over-washing denim and fraying and distressing flannel tops.

Available from BEAMS Harajuku on Friday, 3rd of December.
