Jil Sander+ and Arc'teryx Tap Into Mountain Sports for AW '21 Collaboration

Jil Sander+ and Arc'teryx Tap Into Mountain Sports for AW '21 Collaboration

After being teased last October people have eagerly waited in anticipation for a glimpse at Jil Sander+ and Arc’teryx’s collaboration which is set to release in the coming days.

Launched in 2019, Jil Sander+ is the performance and outdoor focused arm of the Avante-garde namesake, Jil Sander, which is joining forces with the Canadian mountaineering and performance-driven label, Arc’teryx for AW ‘21. While some people are quizzing the validity of the pairing, Arc’teryx and Jil Sander+ share an uncompromising blend of minimalism and functionality with each partner allowing the other to venture into a newfound sector of the industry.

Throughout the collection, the Creative Directors at Jil Sander+ have drawn upon shared experiences of skiing and snowboarding, fusing that into the capsule that spans across jackets, overalls and a one-piece suit. Subtle touches like leather overlays on the zipper pulls and collaborative branding hint at something elevated and Arc’teryx adds its technical nuance through GORE-TEX PRO 3L construction. The colour palette has been kept fairly muted with a choice of either black, white or a blue-grey, said to be inspired by the glacial glow.

It will release on the 10th of November from Jil Sander and Arc’teryx’s online stores as well as select retailers worldwide.

Take a closer look at the capsule below.
