Berghaus Dean Street Seeks to Combines Alpinist Cues with Tie-Dye for Autumn/Winter '21 Collection
Berghaus Dean Street, an arm of the label that revisits iconic pieces of design from the Berghaus back-catalogue, has unveiled its Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection alongside a campaign directed by the team at Dukes Cupboard.
The Dean Street line is always keen to fuse both form and function whilst paying close attention to astute technical details and embedding each garment with decades of cultivated outdoor expertise. Peering into the brand’s rich archive, the Berghaus design team looked to alpine and mountaineering uniforms for inspiration and put their spin on said garb through the use of bold Aztec prints, glacial-infused colour blocking and tie-dye motifs. Seasonal pieces include tie-dyed printed fleece zip-ups, cropped jackets and the waterproof Mayeurvate jacket, amongst others like longsleeve tees and insulated jackets. While there are nods to the past in the designs, the overall construction and thought process behind the pieces is rooted in the present and future through the use of recycled materials, eco-friendly dyes and ergonomic cuts.
Vintage retailer, Dukes Cupboard, home to the likes of Stone Island, Berghaus and Prada Sport, was enlisted to create a campaign that celebrated the community surrounding the Dean Street line, thus bringing together London-based artist Marcus Jefferson and Rihannon Barry to share their experiences of the brand. To further the experience, from November 10th, Duke’s Cupboard will be temporarily transforming its retail space into a dedicatory spot to the history of Berghaus.
