Welter Shelter Continues to Observe the Relationship Between Form and Function for AW26
Amsterdam-based label Welter Shelter continues to fuse form and function across its Autumn/Winter ‘26 protective outerwear offering.
As it approaches its tenth anniversary, Welter Shelter is taking the opportunity to collaborate with Felipe Romero Beltrán, a photographer highly regarded by art director Sjoerd Cuypers, to shoot this season’s campaign. Together, they find balance in one another’s work, sharing a carefully considered approach without unnecessary fanfare. The results speak for themselves.
Autumn/Winter ‘26 poses a question: how can clothing be functional and well-designed without overpowering either? Beltrán honours this introspection throughout the campaign imagery: ordinary moments rather than scenes intentionally staged for a campaign. The more you look at them, the more the images reveal a language that doesn’t rely on words explaining it, just what you see.
Outerwear remains central to Welter Shelter’s core offering, with a range of silhouettes in several fabric options, from long hooded overcoats to shorter blouson coats. Displays of functionality are largely understated, bar stowable hoods and accessible pockets.
