TT To Open New Kyoto Space for TT Women
Following TT Gion, Kyoto-based brand TT will open TT Gosho-Minami, a new space for its womenswear line, in a 150-year-old townhouse near the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Bringing clothing together with architecture, gardens, tea and art, the space extends founder Taiga Takahashi’s idea of ‘applied archaeology’ beyond the garment. Nishijin-ori textiles, Kyoto karakami paper and hand-blown glass bring traditional craft into the building, while a dedicated Denim Room treats the fabric with the care of a tea ceremony. The opening exhibition explores water through scent and sound, including a work by Tomoko Sauvage shown in Japan for the first time, and runs from October 28th to November 1st.
