Journal Standard Taipei Updates Barbour's Spey Jacket
Rounding off Autumn/Winter ‘25, Journal Standard Taipei has released its exclusive special order of Barbour’s ‘Spey Jacket’, a staple in the British brand’s history here updated for city use.
Typically, the Spey Jacket is cut shorter in the body, adhering to a more traditional workwear silhouette, but Journal Standard has endeavoured to deliver a style better suited to daily wear. Here, the Taipei-based retailer has modified its length, elongating it through the body, adding a conveniently placed hand-warmer pocket, and a drawstring waist, while maintaining the original characteristics of the jacket. The base material is a washed waxed cotton, achieving a worn-in feel and look that mirrors a years-old patina, and softening the hand feel of the wax surface. The Spey Jacket arrives in brown or washed khaki.
