COLLABORATION | eye_C x HANWAG 'Bergler eye_C Low'
eye_C and Hanwag revisit their collaborative origins with the “Bergler eye_C Low”, redefining traditional craftsmanship through a modern lens.
Using Hanwag’s signature double-stitched mountaineering boot, rooted in outdoor heritage, as the platform, it is reimagined here with a high-quality Perwanger suede upper, stitched blue polka dots, and eye_C decals. This marks the first time the Bergler boot has been released as a low hiker silhouette; previously, it was only available in a high version.
"I’ve always had a love for polka dots, a way to elevate something without making it too much. We usually make collaborative footwear that blends nicely with your outfit rather than stealing the spotlight. For this one, I still wanted to keep that idea in mind but add an extra layer on top to try something new. The result is a semi-bold look on a more muted canvas, resulting in something in between. Together, Hanwag and eye_C share a mutual appreciation for heritage design and honest craftsmanship, imbuing this spirit into the Bergley eye_C Low, a boot that is comfortable in the city and on the trails. The upper is crafted from a high-quality Perwander suede leather, decorated with blue polka dots, and eye_C and Hanwag callouts. The interior is lined with soft leather for comfort, while the cuff and tongue are made of a fine, matching nubuck. As a nod to its alpine heritage, it comes with silver D-rings and a selection of laces in different colours: flat Taupe, Light Blue, and round Taupe laces. Underfoot, a Vibram® Tessin wedge sole features a rugged profile, providing greater grip and traction on mountain trails and city streets.

The eye_C x HANWAG ‘Bergler eye_C Low’ will be released at a special pop-up in Tokyo this Saturday, December 6th. Any remaining pairs will be made available online on Sunday, December 7th.
