The Newest Iteration of New Balance Tokyo Design Studios MT10T v1 Launches Soon
New Balance Tokyo Design Studio, the experimental footwear arm of the Bostonian icon, has previewed the latest iteration of the MT10T v1 ahead of its release on Friday.
This low-profile, bordering on a Mary Jane-esque, silhouette was originally offered as a minimalist trail running shoe designed to deliver a barefoot-like experience back in 2011, but was introduced into a new context by Tokyo Design Studio. Following its earlier release this year, the MT10T v1 returns in familiar form, with some subtle, elevated upgrades. Arriving in two colourways - Brown or Navy - the MT10T v1 is constructed with pig nubuck suede on the upper, a cow leather lining, and a leather collar. The result is a refined footwear silhouette devoid of laces, built using upgraded materials, and equipped with a round-lugged Vibram outsole. Regardless of its updates, it retains its minimal cushioning for maximum ground feel, encouraging the foot to move naturally.
