Caroline Hu Brings a Delicate Touch to adidas' Samba Silhouette
Caroline Hu has announced her forthcoming collaboration with adidas on the Samba which introduces motifs from the designer’s Spring/Summer ‘24 collection.
Marked as the Reverie by Caroline Hu x adidas Originals, the collaboration proposes four variations of adidas’ beloved Samba model. Instead of merely tweaking the colourway in line with her collection, Hu has created a warped and soft ‘shell’ using lace and pleating techniques which forms a cocoon-like structure around the upper while keeping the adidas ‘Three Stripes’ intact. The shearing satin style is a reinterpretation of the handmade smocking technique that Hu uses in her couture runway pieces, providing synergy between the footwear and garments. The colour palette consists of blush pinks, royal blue, black and white, bringing together the worlds of Caroline Hu and adidas by colour alone.
