ORDINARY FITS Autumn/Winter '19

ORDINARY FITS Autumn/Winter '19

Despite being known most for their simple selvedge denim, ORDINARY FITS somehow continues to subvert its own namesake with pieces, though informed by classics, basking in an indescribable allure. Continuing where they left off for AW19, the Japanese label crafts more editions of their bread and butter with accompaniments lying in compliment than contrast.

Seasonally appropriate, the range confines to a small yet refined palette: military-inspired olives lie next to faded indigo while neutrals by way of white, black, and grey ride along in tandem. Nothing necessarily steals the show, rather, the looks themselves act as starting points for self expression: some pair army parkas with Canadian tuxedos while others stand closer to workwear templates as inoffensive shirting drapes over blank tees. Oatmeal-toned knitwear are loose both in weave and fit as hems bear no elastic for a fit effortless by comparison to most; type 2 truckers, one of the most popular of the three styles, fade subtly at the sleeves and body, resembling the distressing of its matching jeans; and various tops take on traditional cardigans as well as a deep breadth of shirts through the most iconic of eras.
